Discord rejects files above your plan’s upload limit, and on a free account that limit is small — a minute of phone video is usually too big. SelfKit shrinks the video to fit, keeping it as sharp as the limit allows.

Common problems
- “Your files are too powerful”
- Discord shows this when a file is above your plan’s limit. Compress the video with the right plan selected above.
- The video does not play in the chat
- Discord previews MP4 (H.264) best — and that is the format SelfKit always saves.
- The limit is different on a server
- Boosted servers can allow bigger uploads. Choose “Custom size” and enter the server’s limit.
